This semester we’ve launched a campus rep program with a series of challenges that engage our reps to take ownership of Apliiq as if it’s their company to grow on campus. One of the challenges is to conduct interviews of local on-campus fashionistas. Here’s one from our rep Kyle T at Northeastern in Boston.
1. How would you define your style?
Maybe like a classy with a little but of grunge student on a budget that doesn’t get enough sleep and gets cold easily. But, like, in a good “I woke up like this” way.
2. What inspires you this semester?
Boston! Always inspired by this place. So many different styles, different tastes, and just different people in general.
3. How do you express your creativity?
Aside from the way I dress, I like to get in some drawing and painting here and there. Art has always been my favorite way to express myself, but it’s hard to make time for it. Definitely something I don’t want to lose, though.
4. How does Northeastern support your creative pursuits?
I’m trying to get in the design field in the future, and Northeastern is just absolutely great at providing me with resources on how to do it. There’s specific classes for it, people I can contact, advisors to help me out. Overall, a great support system. But most importantly, everyone here, students and faculty, are open-minded and just let you do you, really.
5. Favorite go to outfit?
Black cut out boots (think Jeffrey Campbells but knock-offs because student), black bud skirt and a long sleeve white crop top with buttons with a large denim work shirt as a cardigan. And some snazzy rings.
6. Favorite type of patterned fabric and why?
Floral! I’m really attracted to flowers in general, but floral is easily played up or down so I can basically where it with everything. Also, the colors tend to be softer and not so bright and harsh.
7. Do you believe creativity makes the world better?
Of course. Creativity is innovation.
8. What is your spirit clothing and why?
(Like spirit animal but clothes?) My previously mentioned black cut out knockoff boots because the struggle to break them in was so rough, I’m 97% sure they took a piece of my soul. Also, I wear them a lot.
