fabric storytime: the plunge fabric

by

On our plunge fabric are polar bears swimming and chillin’ on ice. Did you know that they are classified as marine mammals (where dolphins and whales are also under)? They can swim about 6 miles per hour and 50% of the time they hunt for food.

Many would claim that the color of a polar bear’s fur is white, but if you look closely (if you ever get to encounter this beastly animal) it’s transparent. It only looks white because the hollow fur reflects all the visible wavelengths of light instead of absorbing it. In this case, the ice helps with that.

Climate change and human contact (hunting and oil spills) have been a threat to the existence of these animals. They are at the top of the food chain, which may lead to the disruption of general life in the Arctic.

Just like many city human dwellers, they don’t hibernate. Polar bears have a greater chance of overheating than freezing.

We are unlike polar bears who are lucky to have such thick coating. But you know what? Show your support to the bears by customizing your own heavyweight hoodie with the plunge fabric!
